Cameron Markovsky

Patagonia Program Instructor


Cameron holds an MSc in Geography from the University of Utah and a BA in Earth Science and Math with a minor in Anthropology from Bowdoin College. He worked on glacier mass balance modeling in High Mountain Asia as a graduate student and on glaciology research projects as an undergraduate. His research interests include climate change in alpine regions, archaeology, and human/environment interaction. Cameron has led field expeditions in Patagonia and Alaska and previously worked as a climbing and backpacking guide. He also enjoys scrambling in the mountains, tossing a frisbee, and writing poetry. In 2023, Cameron began working with Round River in Patagonia.
