Hey there,
How are you doing? How is the program in Namibia going...are the students as awesome as my group was? The recruiting is still going strong I'm assuming? This is upto your discretion but if I was not doing my MSc next year I would try and find myself there again and maybe help out for a change. Last week I was in the Kalahari doing some vegetation surveys there. My honours class went to be exposed to different vegetation types. Very different from Namibia but deserts are still rather gorgeous places. Aside from the cold nights and the close up encounters with lions it was fantastic. The water there was different, very salty and soapy to bathe in. Its funny but Round River honestly prepered me in so many ways for this road in life I have taken and its just the best thing. Anything from dealing with unplanned situations to sucking it up when it gets tough!! Each student takes away what they need. Now the future, next stop is Kilimanjaro....any takers?
I have been meaning to tell you about my cheetah MSc project for the next few years. Honestly working on the rhinos in Namibia gave me a head start in research skills and capabilities so now I am not as intemidated as I could have been. I have a great team here to help me out and my knowledge about cheetahs just keeps getting better.
Well take care and no worries if the reply is not instant, it's allowed once in a while.
